You are ready for a controlled transition only when your business can access the domain, DNS, website, analytics, lead routing, and critical phone numbers without relying on the outgoing vendor. A contract may also limit what files, content, or design assets you can take.

This checker does not ask you to upload a contract. It gives you a practical access inventory and a request list for anything that remains unclear.

Can you sign in to the registrar, change contacts, and recover the account without the agency?

Can you change DNS records and recover access without the agency?

Is the hosting account in your business name with billing and support access you control?

Do you have a tested administrator login that the agency cannot revoke?

Does your agreement state what content, photography, and design assets you may keep?

Can you obtain a current files-and-database backup and restore it elsewhere?

Can you export the redirects that protect existing URLs and rankings?

Does your business hold administrator access to the Analytics property?

Is your business a verified owner of the Search Console property?

Does your business control the primary owner account?

Are the Google Ads and Local Services Ads accounts under business-controlled logins?

Can you keep or port every number used in ads and on the website?

Do you know where every form sends leads and who can change those destinations?

Can you update the Jobber, Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan, or other booking connection?

Can your business administer its email accounts and recovery methods?

Have you located the cancellation, export, ownership, and handoff terms?

Questions contractors ask before a website move

Does a domain lookup prove that I control my domain?

No. A public registration lookup can help identify the registrar and current registration data. Control requires a working account login, recovery access, and authority to change the settings.

Should I cancel my agency before I collect this access?

Do not cancel or change DNS until you have documented critical access, taken a current backup, and planned the cutover and rollback steps.

Does this checker review my agency contract?

No. It organizes technical and operational questions. It does not interpret contracts or provide legal advice.
